the next thing i knew i was being asked by the po if i had any issues with the faithful slave.
I try to stick to oneliners. I loved the "new light" regarding 1935. Whenever a Witness would talk about it, I would correct them by saying that it was NOT new light; Christendom has known it all along!
No one had a come-back; no elder approached me.

i have heard the term used over the years but as far as a good definition for it ihave none.

PHOENIX - A suburban police officer is accused of leaving a police dog in a patrol car for more than 12 hours on a 109-degree day, killing the animal.
Chandler police Sgt. Tom Lovejoy was booked into the Maricopa County jail on a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty after a two-week investigation into the death of a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois named Bandit. He was released later Wednesday, said Capt. Paul Chagolla, a spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s investigation showed Bandit was in Lovejoy’s patrol car from about 9 a.m. to shortly after 10 p.m. Aug. 11. During that time, the investigation found, the officer ran errands, napped and ate out with his wife. Lovejoy later found the dog dead in the car.
“I am certain Sgt. Lovejoy has suffered greatly from leaving his police dog in a sweltering car,” Sheriff Joe Arpaio said in a statement. “I do not relish the idea of compounding his sadness. However, Lovejoy must be treated like anyone else in similar circumstances.”
Lovejoy said Wednesday night that he is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 25 and that his lawyer advised him not to comment further.
“With the sheriff railing on me right now, it’s kind of hard to say anything,” Lovejoy said.
Chandler Police Chief Sherry Kiyler said in a statement that the department respects and supports the criminal justice system and its processes, and that an internal investigation has been launched.

To be honest ten hours of anything a month is not really much time. I spend more time deciding what day of the week it is than that.
I have to disagree. In order to turn in 10 hours monthly, a JW must devote a significantly larger amount of time because of the way the time is counted. And this in addition to a calendar already filled with meetings, not to mention work and family responsibilities.

An ambassador has the legal authority negotiate and to enter into contracts and agreements which are binding upon his or her country; an envoy does not have such legal authority.
An envoy simply brings a message.

There is another poster, whom I really like, on another board who is asserting that the WTBTS never said a 1935 cut off day....that some people just took it that way.
I know there is some hard language in relatively recent publications saying the the "calling" as virtually ended. Will someone post that information for me? Any help is appreciated.

i don't know whether to laugh or cry.. a friend lent me coc yesterday and i stayed up most of the night reading it.
it took me 13 hours and i skipped the meeting today to keep reading, i couldn't bear to put it down.. i am shocked but not surprised at how closely ray's thinking mirrors my own in some ways.
the part that hit me hardest was.... "conviction, it has no meaning or validity unless it is individual, personal.
Perhaps you will be able to build that spiritual relationship with God now that your relationship with the WTBTS is over.
